Nomex® IIIA

The effectiveness of Nomex® has been proven and documented in laboratories, field tests and real-life flash fire and electric arc situations.

Garments made with Nomex® thermal technology are extremely durable and resist abrasion, tears and chemicals. They’re also an excellent value, lasting three to five times longer than other standard and protective fabrics, including 100% cotton and flame-retardant treated (FRT) cotton. In lease, rental and purchase programs, the outstanding wear life of garments of Nomex® IIIA can contribute to bottom-line savings. Garments of Nomex® are as comfortable to wear as other work clothing. Lightweight, breathable fabrics of Nomex® brand fiber are designed to transport moisture away from the skin, which helps wearers feel cool and dry. Side-by-side wear tests show that fabric weight is the single greatest factor in controlling garment comfort, and that the lightweight comfort of Nomex® is often preferred over other protective fabrics.

Fleece made with Nomex® IIIA Fiber

Thermal protection and the comfort and softness of fleece have been combined in a new product offering from DuPont: fleece garments with Nomex® brand fiber. Light-weight, breathable and comfortable, these garments offer superior protection from extreme heat and flame and are ideal for use in applications where thermal protection, durability and ease of movement are critical.

Westex UltraSoft®

Westex UltraSoft® 88% Cotton and 12% high Tenacity Nylon fabrics were introduced in 1996. Westex UltraSoft® fabrics focused a small amount of high tenacity nylon in the face of the fabric to provide enhanced abrasion resistance for an extended garment wear life. The new Westex UltraSoft® blend also provided superior test results in electric arc flash and flash fire testing over the original Westex Indura® fabrics. A softer feel enhances the cool comfort characteristics of the Westex UltraSoft® to provide an industry leading balance of Protection, Comfort and Value unsurpassed in the marketplace today.

Westex® DH

Westex® DH fabric consists of a fiber blend of 48% Tencel / 40% Modacrylic / 12% Aramid. This is a Dual-Hazard FR fabric that protects the wearer from electric arc and flash fire hazards for the life span of the garment. Since the fabric is inherently fire resistant, the FR properties cannot be washed away or compromised by long-term wearing of the garment. Westex® DH fabric is tough enough to handle the rigors of industrial washing and still maintain an attractive appearance. In addition to the protective factors of Westex® DH, garment wearers will find that the fabric provides a cool and dry wearing experience. This is due to the “breathability and moisture management” charcteristics that are integral to the fabric.

Tecasafe plus

Tencate Tuffweld

TenCate Tuffweld® provides rugged flame-resistant protection at the lowest cost per wear of any welding garment fabric. Tuffweld surpasses chemically treated cotton in tensile strength, tear strength, abrasion resistance and wicking ability. Provides higher resistance to molten slag and pin holes. Tuffweld never needs ironing.

Polartec Power Dry FR

Polartec® Power Dry® FR was created to give flame resistant base fabrics greater efficiency and more dependable wicking properties. Chemical fabric treatments can only provide temporary wicking because the ability fades and weakens with every wash. Polartec Wind Pro FR

Polartec® Wind Pro® FR was developed to strengthen our flame resistant fleece's ability to resist the effects of strong winds. By adapting our fleece structure through tighter knit constructions we created a new fabric composition that drastically reduces wind permeation. PBI Performance
