About Us

Actionwear Saskatoon Inc. manufactures and supplies the Actionwear FR line of Flame Resistant clothing. We manufacture a complete line of unlined garments, insulated garments, Arctic apparel and accessories that are available from inventory throughout the year.

Actionwear Saskatoon Inc. understands how important quality and service are to our customers. We are proud to manufacture quality garments in Canada with proven protective fabrics from North America.

We know that the lives of oil and gas workers and those who face industrial hazards every day depend on our products being right the first time. There is absolutely no room for failure in the protective components / fabrics we utilize in our Flame Resistant (FR) clothing.

Actionwear has always chosen to use only market and industry proven fabrics such as:

  • DuPont™ Nomex® IIIA, Fleece made of DuPont™ Nomex® IIIA fiber
  • Nomex® MHP
  • Springfield DH
  • 3M™ Scotchlite™ Reflective Material
  • Tecasafe® plus by Tencate
  • UltraSoft® from Westex by Milliken

Our trusted suppliers – Dupont™, 3M™, Springfield, Tencate and Westex by Milliken – provide products with superior performance, extensive fabric testing, assisted wear trials, and end user support for our customers. Their history – and our history – in the FR industry ensure that Actionwear customers benefit from quality controlled consistent fabrics that are engineered to meet (and exceed) industry and manufacturing standards.

Some garment suppliers choose to provide safety clothing that includes components made by little known or unknown suppliers. It would be prudent for everyone involved in safety clothing to obtain performance testing documentation for every component of the garment. This should include certification for fabric, insulation, zippers, hook and loop closures, thread, and reflective trim, to guarantee compliance of each component / element of the finished garment.

The FR garments that Actionwear supplies meet and exceed the performance requirements of the Industry Standards including CGSB 155.20, NFPA 2112, CSA Z462 / NFPA 70E, and ASTM F1506. The garment warning label specifies the standards met for each garment.

Quality Assurance

Actionwear Saskatoon Inc. utilizes an in-house quality monitoring program. We have material and product tracking procedures for our manufacturing process, order processing, and shipping procedures to ensure consistency, quality, and a high level of customer satisfaction. One factor that makes our quality control unique is that the owners of the company are actively involved in all of the key areas of the company.

Every Actionwear employee in garment production has been trained in maintaining quality in the construction of each garment. The cutters check for uniform coloring and weaving of the fabric as they lay the fabric out for cutting. Each sewing machine operator visually inspects the garment as they assemble the pieces and there is a complete inspection of each garment before it moves into stock. In the shipping department, the garment is given its final inspection prior to shipping it to the customer.
